CONCEPT ART

Here is an evening course project I worked on while studying at FemArt Escola in Barcelona. I used Clip Studio Paint (and Photoshop) to create the artworks.

Research

I drew my inspiration from popular animated shows like Final Space. In order to spice things up, I decided to add some well-known Disney personalities into the mix to play the antagonist characters.

I created a “bible” to help define the characters’ identity and the overall look and feel of the project.

I also drew the turnaround of the main character to visualize and test every angle of the character’s aspect before proceeding further in the design process.

Design

Once all my graphic assets were defined, I decided to develop a graphic novel cover and a frame.

For the cover I drew my inspiration from the book Five Nights at Freddy’s: The Silver Eyes and gave a nod to John Carpenter‘s Escape from New York.

The end

As this was my first concept art project, there’s obviously room for improvement but it was a lot of fun nonetheless.

I am looking forward to keep working in order to hone my skills in this area in the near future.
